Welcome to the first issue of Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership's BUSINESS BRIEFS. We've designed this newsletter to better inform you, our members, as well as our friends, about BAHEP initiatives.

Harris County has added another incentive to attract businesses to southeast Texas, which has the potential of adding considerably more “green” to the Bay Area region and beyond. This kind of green applies not only to the environment but also to the bottom line of companies that choose to build according to LEED® standards established by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership’s Board of Directors has unanimously approved the formation of the International Maritime Advisory Committee with Dr. R. Bowen Loftin, vice president and chief executive officer, Texas A&M University at Galveston, as its first chairman.
